Lissa Bernardo Lising

Attorney at Law

Lissa Bernardo Lising brings nearly two decades of legal experience and a passion for advocacy to Rozas. Born and raised in Metro Manila, Philippines, Lissa earned her degree in Philosophy from Ateneo de Manila University before attending its prestigious law school, where she graduated in 2002. That same year, she was admitted to the Philippine Bar before later earning admission to the California Bar in 2006.

During law school, Lissa interned for former Senate President Jovito Salonga, a renowned figure in Philippine history known for his stand against dictatorship. After graduating, she worked under former Associate Justice of the Philippine Supreme Court Antonio T. Carpio, where she assisted in drafting and editing Supreme Court decisions before moving to California. She went on to build a successful solo law practice for 17 years before joining Rozas, bringing a wealth of experience in immigration law and appellate advocacy. Lissa is also admitted to practice before the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals.

Her passion for law began in childhood, inspired by L.A. Law, which sparked her dream of becoming an attorney. Today, Lissa is motivated by the simple yet profound realization that clients need clarity, and she takes great pride in patiently guiding them through complex legal matters. She finds immense fulfillment in seeing the moment a client truly understands their path forward.

Outside of the office, Lissa enjoys playing the drums, attending concerts, recreating restaurant dishes, and befriending every dog she meets. She also taught public speaking at the University of La Verne. Above all, she is proud of her family—her husband Ian, whom she has been married to since 2003, and their son, Quino (whom she lovingly nags about his haircut).

For Lissa, the best part of her job is being able to help people and make a meaningful difference in their lives.
