Emiia Charles

Emiia D. Charles began her legal career in 2024 and has since committed herself to advocating for those navigating challenging situations. A Lafayette, Louisiana native, Emiia graduated from Dillard University with a degree in Criminal Justice and earned her law degree from Southern University Law Center the same year she entered the legal profession.

During law school, Emiia distinguished herself as a competitor in two Phi Alpha Delta Mock Trial Competitions and as a law clerk from 2022 to 2024, assisting with criminal law, post-conviction relief, and family law cases. Her time in law school was marked by her active participation in professional organizations, including the Southern University Racial Impact Study Pilot, Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, and the National Bar Association’s Women Lawyers Division “We Empower Program,” where she gained valuable experience and insight into the legal profession.

Emiia is driven by a personal connection to the criminal justice system and a deep desire to defend individuals who lack resources to protect themselves. She believes that “mistakes do not make people” and is passionate about helping clients find solutions and see their lives transformed for the better. When not working, Emiia enjoys cooking, watching movies, spending time with her family, and exploring the outdoors when the weather is warm.
